Anthropic Launches Claude Code on the Web for Parallel Cloud Coding

Claude Code on the web lets Pro/Max users run isolated, parallel cloud coding sessions from the browser, link repos, and auto-create PRs. Sandboxed sessions and a secure Git proxy protect code and limit network access.

TL;DR

  • Claude Code on the web: Beta research preview enabling browser-based coding tasks executed on Anthropic-managed cloud; connect GitHub repos and run sessions without a local terminal.
  • Parallel cloud sessions with real-time progress: Each session in its own isolated environment; interactive steering; automatic pull requests and concise change summaries.
  • Suited for repo-structure questions, bug fixes and routine tasks, and backend changes validated via test-driven development; early iOS preview included.
  • Isolated sandbox & secure proxy: Network and filesystem restrictions; Git interactions routed through a proxy limited to authorized repos; custom network allowlists for domains (e.g., npm).
  • Available now in research preview for Pro and Max users; access at http://claude.com/code; cloud sessions share rate limits with other Claude Code usage;

Anthropic brings Claude Code to the browser as a research preview

Anthropic has launched Claude Code on the web, a beta research preview that enables coding tasks to be delegated directly from the browser and executed on Anthropic-managed cloud infrastructure. The web interface lets users connect GitHub repositories, describe the work to be done, and run multiple coding sessions in parallel without opening a local terminal.

Parallel cloud sessions and developer workflow

The web experience is designed to let Claude start and manage coding sessions across repositories from a single interface. Each session runs in its own isolated environment with real-time progress tracking, and interactive steering is supported so tasks can be adjusted while Claude is working. The system can create pull requests automatically and produces concise change summaries, enabling faster iteration across simultaneous tasks.

The web interface is presented as a complement to existing Claude Code workflows. It is particularly suited for scenarios such as answering questions about repository structure and mappings, handling bug fixes and well-defined routine tasks, and performing backend changes where test-driven development can be used to verify updates. An early preview of Claude Code is also available on the iOS app as part of this research preview.

Security-first sandboxing and network controls

Every cloud task executes inside an isolated sandbox with network and filesystem restrictions. Git interactions pass through a secure proxy that restricts access to authorized repositories, aiming to keep code and credentials protected throughout the workflow. Custom network configuration options are available to control what domains a sandboxed session may reach; for example, domains required to download npm packages can be allowed so tests can run and changes can be validated. Availability and limits

Claude Code on the web is available now in research preview for Pro and Max users. Access is provided at claude.com/code to connect repositories and begin delegating tasks. Cloud-based sessions share rate limits with other Claude Code usage; further operational details are in the product documentation: https://docs.claude.com/en/docs/claude-code/claude-code-on-the-web
