Google introduces Antigravity, a VS Code–based IDE in public preview
Google has launched Antigravity, a new IDE built on top of VS Code, offered as a no-cost public preview. The preview targets individual accounts and provides developers access to AI-assisted features and Google model integrations while the product is evaluated more broadly.
What the public preview includes
- Free Unlimited Autocomplete for code completion, available throughout the preview.
- A generous rate limit of Gemini 3 Pro, providing higher-throughput access to that model during the preview period.
- A more conservative combined rate limit for other Vertex Model Garden models, reflecting distinct usage allowances across Google’s model offerings.
Terms and account scope
Antigravity’s public preview is available at no cost and is governed by Google’s terms of service, not Google Cloud’s enterprise terms. The plan is intended for individual accounts; enterprise terms and billing are not part of the preview arrangement.
Developer implications
By using a VS Code foundation, Antigravity leverages a familiar editor surface while layering Google’s model access and autocomplete capabilities. The most significant technical points for developers are the unlimited autocomplete offering and the differentiated rate limits for Gemini 3 Pro versus other Vertex Model Garden models, which will shape how AI-assisted workflows scale in practice during the preview.
Availability
Antigravity is currently in public preview with no-cost access for individual accounts. Further commercial or enterprise details were not part of the preview announcement.
